Hi, dolls!
I am super excited to tell you all about Lancome's newest fragrance - Idôle Aura. I've previously done a full review and comparison on both Lancome's Idôle and Idôle L'Intense which you can read HERE. If you're interested to find out all about Idôle Aura, let's get right into the review! xo
Idôle Aura is the first sun-kissed floral scent by Lancome. A fragrance for women sharing the light of success with others. Because when you succeed, the world succeeds with you, sweep an entire community alone in the wake of a new scent. Idôle Aura leads the way by opting for sustainably sourced ingredients ensuring decent working conditions and fair prices for farmers while preserving the ecosystem.
Top Notes: Fleur de Sel, Solar Roses
Middle Notes: Dazzling Jasmine
Bottom Notes: Salty Vanilla, Musk
Idôle Aura is a gorgeous floral woody musk fragrance. The opening gives me a burst of sugary roses and sea salt and as it dries down, you start to smell the jasmine beautifully blended with its bottom notes of salty vanilla and musk. It's a very nice scent to wear in summer, however I can see myself wear this all year long.
I was surprised to see the change in the bottle design - unlike Idôle, Idôle Aura has a stand built into its bottle, making it easier to place in your vanity without worrying it'd fall and smash. I'm interested to see if they will change all the previous bottles too, as it's definitely easier than Idôle's flat bottle without a stand.
Idôle Aura is an Eau de Parfum. Eau de Parfum has the highest concentration of fragrance - generally having a fragrance concentration of between 15% and 20%. On average, Eau de Parfum should last from four to five hours, if not more. This differs from Eau de Toilette which has a fragrance concentration of between 5% and 15%. Eau de Toilette is definitely one of the most popular types of fragrances and it's cheaper than EDP but it will normally only last for two to three hours.
Besides having similar longevity, and all three being nice feminine scents, I find these three to be completely different. Idôle's top notes of pear and bergamot make it sweet and refreshing, almost Citrusy, whereas Idôle Aura, although still sweet is much softer, more floral and salty. On the other hand, Idôle L'Intense has a stronger opening of roses and orange which adds bitterness to the smell and is more spicy and aromatic.
Final Thoughts
Out of the entire Lancome's fragrance collection the Idôle range has to be my favourite. Now that I've tried all three, I can honestly say I like them all but the newest is becoming my favourite. I've noticed brands like to release a fragrance, then do an intense version and then release it in EDT, so I'm pleasantly surprised Lancome didn't follow and instead created a new, beautiful addition to the collection. There's definitely an Idôle version for everyone, so this is a range I'd recommend you all to check out.
Thank you Lancome for kindly gifting me this beautiful new fragrance! I can't wait to see what other addition are coming to the Idôle family xo
