Hi, dolls!
Today's blog post will be another makeup battle. I have planned to review this eyeshadow palette for a long time now, however I decided that it would be even more fun to compare it to each other. How? Well, the BH Cosmetics x Shaaanxo Remix Palette comes with two sides - the OG side and the new (remix) one, and for this reason I thought it would be fun to test both sides and compare. If you're interested to learn more about this eyeshadow palette and see which side is my winner, let's get right into the review!
BH Cosmetics x Shaanxo The Remix
£18, BeautyBay
I have not yet come across a palette that is two sided and I love the idea. I think this is super cool because it makes it so much easier to travel with and doesn't take up too much space in my make up storage. As well as the palette, the packaging is different on both sides, which makes it even more prettier and I am loving the pink!
The OG - Bronze Side.
I know what all of you are going to think or say - this looks exactly like Kylie Cosmetics' Bronze Palette. But the truth is that Shaaanxo has dropped her palette way earlier than Kylie, so actually many accused Kylie of copying, not the other way around. There are many similarities, especially the structure, but some shades are definitely different. Comparing it to Kylie's Bronze palette, I decided to get this one because firstly, it's almost identical for a cheaper price and secondly, because it has a second side of a palette added to it. I don't know about you guys, but I kind of gave up on Kylie Cosmetics because living in the UK, any product that costs more than £15 has to be calculated with customs which are usually around £20, so that's a definite no from me. You can find my review on Kylie's products that I do own here -> KYLIE COSMETICS.
Now onto the shades - when swatching, they are super pigmented and swatch just fine. However, they definitely look better on my hand than when used on the eyes, it definitely takes a lot of layers of the shadows applied onto the eyelid for the pigment to show up there. The shimmer shades are the most disappointing and its best to use them with a wet brush for its pigment to show up at all. I tend to create my eye looks using the mattes from this palette and shimmers from different palettes. On the other hand, there is barely any fall out which surprised me in a good way and I will definitely carry on using this palette because the mattes are truly stunning!
The Remix - Burgundy/Pink Side
The Remix side of the palette has beautiful Burgundy and Pink tones added to the palette. I think all of these shadows can be used on a daily basis too, just like the OG side, but also on a night out. The last 5 shades are pressed powders but for me that doesn't make any difference. When using this side, I didn't have the same problems with the shimmer shades which made me so happy. These mattes are also as blendable as the OG side, so definitely a big plus!
Those who tried comparing the Remix side with Kylie Cosmetics' Burgundy palettes are definitely wrong - there is barely any resemblance. I think what made me obsessed with this palette the most is that I can mix both sides together and make so many cool looks, you literally get so many opportunities to play with this palette.
So who is the real winner? Which side is better?
Well...
Personally I prefer the bronze side when it comes to the mattes and colours but the quality is so much better on the Remix side. There is no fall out on both sides but the Remix side I think is just tiny better when it comes to blending the shadows, the shimmers definitely show up on the eye much better unlike with the bronze side, and the pressed powders (5 last shades) are just amazing.
My result would be that both sides mixed together are the winners of this battle.
I would love to hear your opinions in the comments and see which side you guys prefer. If any of you own the palette please also state which side you prefer to work with! Always reading your comments and always thankful for your support.
Love, Olivia xo
