Huda Beauty Wishful Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub Review

by - Sunday, March 22, 2020

Hi, dolls!

Huda Beauty has recently launched their skincare brand called Wishful and released their first ever skincare product - Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub. I decided to give the product a try and ordered it on the day of its release, testing it ever since it arrived. Now, that I have been testing this product for over a month, I decided to finally review it and share with you guys my experience with the scrub.

Wishful Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub
£34/$39

Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub is infused with pineapple and papaya enzymes, BHAs and AHAs, and gentle exfoliators that get rid of the dead skin cells and brighten your complexion. The lightweight, milky scrub is meant to be great for evening skin tone, brightening the skin, texturising and giving you that ultimate glow. Huda and her team have been working on this scrub for the past year and according to her, it has completely transformed her skin.

Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub Ingredients described by Wishful:

Papaya Fruit Extract: Papaya contains the enzyme papain, which is known to smooth and increase skin clarity for a radiant glow while antioxidants help to fight free radical damage.

Pineapple Fruit Extract: Full of bromelain enzymes that gently exfoliate, reduce dark spots and soothe skin, it also contains antioxidant-rich vitamins.

- AHAs: Citric, Lactic, Malic, and Tartaric acid work together to gently dissolve dead surface skin cells, reducing dark spots, improving skin tone and texture, and hydrating the skin.
- BHAs: Salicylic acid is oil-soluble so it penetrates pores and dissolves the ‘glue’ holding together sebum and dead skin cells that block pores.
- Cellulose: This gentle physical exfoliator is an organic plant compound that very gently removes dead skin cells that are ready to come off, leaving softer, smoother skin.
- Hydrating Ingredients: Glycerin, sweet almond oil, coconut, and rose flower extracts soothe and hydrate the skin, so your skin never feels tight or dry.

Final Thoughts
After testing it for a full month, using it on my skin twice a week, I can honestly say that my skin has been looking better - more brighter and glowy. As it removes the dead cells from my skin, it has definitely helped recover the lost radiance. I really like its milky glue-like consistency, as it's easy to apply onto your face and it instantly gathers all the residual debris, leaving my skin feeling so smooth. Also, I find the scrub to be very gentle for my skin, which I consider to be sensitive, and for as long as I have been using/testing the product it has never irritated my skin or made it red. Before using the Yo Glow scrub, I have been using my No7 exfoliator. I have to honestly say that I see more (better!) difference after using the Yo Glow than when using my No7 exfoliator. However, I do realise that not everyone is willing to spend this much on a facial scrub, but with the results it gave me within one month, I can honestly say to all of you that it's worth its price. I do however understand that not everyone can afford it, therefore I would suggest trying out their sample which can be purchased from amazon/ebay or given to you as a gift when purchasing from Huda's website directly. I will constantly be testing skincare products, so if I find any cheaper alternatives for the Yo Glow Enzyme scrub, you will definitely will hear it from me first!

Hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what you think about Wishful or if you tried Yo Glow already! Do you have any skincare products you would like me to test out? Make sure to leave your suggestions down below xo

  1. Glad to hear you liked it and it worked for you. Tempted to get it and try it out. I have somewhat sensitive skin, so that worries me a little. My 13 year old has acne. Think it would help her?

  3. I've actually seen this a lot and was always wondering. I honestly do really want this...I've always wondered if the consistency caused the "chunk" lol. but I was being dumb and didn't realize that it was actually dead skin cells that it was foaming up and taking out. I think? I definitely do wanna try because I need something to return the glow.

  4. I do enjoy a good honest skincare review. I have resolved in 2020 to go cruelty free and mostly vegan with my skincare and with my makeup. My skin has been soooo grateful too! My eyes don't water when I put on skincare or makeup, which omg, they used to both pour, especially the right one, causing me major love/hate relationship with Eyeliners! Now that I'm using good for your skin/good for the animals products, I love my eyeliner again! I love doing just REGULAR makeup and not having to start over several times!!

I use all Drunk Elephant products and add some pure vitamin C Micropowder Crystals from Cosmedix to my Protini cream as a last step. I've definitely seen a difference...my skin is smooth as a baby's butt!! I do get lazy and don't always wash my face and do skincare, but I'm a SAHM & have chronic illnesses, so when I'm not wearing makeup, I tend not to feel the need to do on routine. But with Drunk Elephant, I SWEAR, I can pick up where I left off, use ONE A.M./P.M. cycle and my skin is restored....I'm always looking for dupes or smth cheaper with same or better benefits and it just hasn't happened yet?

I have heard that pineapple is GREAT for your skin though!
