Hi, dolls!
Recently, I came across a video of a washing machine toy for beauty blenders/makeup brushes and I knew that I had to get it and test it out myself because it looks so damn fun! I ordered mine from eBay and paid around £3 for it, and it has arrived within 3 days. I was so excited to try it out and share it with you guys, and even if this was not going to work, just the idea behind it is so fun and I think for £3 is worth trying it out and letting the inner child in me enjoy it.
I also thought that it would be fun for me to not only review this toy with pictures but also with videos that I have converted into gifs to make it more enjoyable for you guys to see. I hope you enjoy this post and make sure to let me know your thoughts down in the comment section!
Also, if you enjoy posts like this one, last year I have tested washing beauty blenders in a microwave, and you can read all about it by clicking HERE.
I decided to put my three beauty blenders up for the test. Two beauty blenders come from Real Techniques (orange & black) and the third one is from Beauty Bakerie. I use Beauty Bakeries' beauty blender for my foundation and the orange beauty blender from Real Techniques for baking. The third sponge hasn't been really used by me but because it's been sitting in my drawers forever, I decided to give it a wash and motivate myself to use it more often.
First, you fill up the washing machine with some water and you add some soap/washing liquid that you would normally use to wash your beauty blenders. I have added water but not too full because I have noticed that once the beauty blender is inserted, too much water can cause leaking and that can ruin all the fun. You also need two AAA batteries for the washing machine to work, because (at least mine) arrived with no batteries inside. From the gif above you can see that the washing machine was actually working once the batteries were in and the inside was filled with water.
Secondly, I decided to pop my beauty blenders inside and see how clean they will become after. It was actually so fun watching them spin around inside the washing machine. You can see from the gif above how my beauty blender which I use for baking is spinning around and getting a good (hopefully) wash!
After having successfully watched three of my beauty blenders get washed up by this toy washing machine, I decided to take a picture for you guys to see the after picture of how my blenders looked. You can definitely see that the powder which was on my orange sponge from baking has disappeared, the black sponge started looking fresher and ready to use and my foundation beauty blender (pink) still has some foundation left on it but it is definitely less than before. I had to wash my foundation sponge in the bathroom sink after to make sure it was fully clean, because like mentioned, the washing machine toy did not wash it all off completely.
Before ending this little experiment, I decided to give it a go once again but this time washing my makeup brushes, especially the smaller ones which I use for eye makeup. To test it out for you guys, I picked an eyeshadow brush that was full of blue pigment, so that it is the easiest to see how much this toy actually cleans my brushes.
Before the wash:
After the wash:
Does the toy washing machine for beauty blenders work? It does! Just like any other toy that comes from China. Would I recommend it for every time you wash your makeup beauty blenders and brushes? No.
I think this is a fun concept to try out and play around with, however, it is not something that cleans your beauty blenders completely, well all depending on how dirty the beauty blenders are in the first place. I still think its fun and for those of you that want to try it out and can afford to spend £3 on this toy you should, but it is not something that everyone should get because like I said, I don't think anyone would bother to use it every time they have to wash their beauty brushes/sponges.
I enjoyed testing this out and definitely not regret spending my money on it because it is a cute thing to have sitting on your desk/vanity, however, I wish it cleaned my foundation sponge a bit later so that I didn't have to go and clean it more after.
Please let me know what you think of this washing machine toy and if you have tried it!
I would love to test fun things like these for you guys more often, so also let me know what other stuff you would want me to check out and test in a future post. Thank you for all your support and for all of you that have followed my blog. If you haven't done so yet, you can click HERE to follow my blog.

Hi, dolls!
Since my first Q&A on this blog which I have posted in March and you can read by clicking HERE, I have decided that it would be a good idea to answer your questions every 1-2 months in separate Q&A blog posts rather than under different blog posts, as this way more people can ask questions and see the answers to them. For this reason, under each Q&A posts like this one, you can ask me anything beauty related and I will answer each question commented below here on my next Q&A post. Let's get right into it!
Thank you! Yes, there are many products I purchased and never liked them or used them.
One of many was the liquid lipsticks from Kylie Cosmetics, I purchased around 8 of her matte lipsticks and never used any more than once or twice because of how drying they felt on my lips!
I don't think so. There were many hyped products that I disliked but it never made me dislike the whole brand because one bad product doesn't always mean the whole company/brand is bad.
Hmmm, lip balm, concealer and contour!
Standard cream lipstick for sure, not liquid.
Never heard of the brand, will definitely check it out!
I have been loving the Revolution Conceal and Define concealer ever since it came out. However, if you're leaning towards Huda or Tarte, then maybe try Tarte one out first because it's been around for a very long time and everyone seems to be loving it. Huda's concealer is also great but I think it comes in a smaller size than the Tarte one. If you need more help finding your perfect match, send me an email to oliviaaandbeauty@gmail.com and I will be more than happy to help you pick up something good, suitable for your skin.
A good setting spray! There are many eyeshadow palettes that beginners can experiment with as well as other beauty items but when it comes to what will set your make-up perfectly in place it will always come down to a great setting spray. I would say if you're going to spend a good amount of money on anything beauty related as a beginner it should definitely be a setting spray.
Sophie/Soph also known as Sophdoesnails on youtube.
Currently on my third Revolution foundation & concealer! My Skindinavia Bridal setting spray and Huda Beauty setting powder are two products I will definitely re-purchase once it finishes.
Eyeliner takes practice, even after doing an eyeliner for so many years I can still get it wrong. I would say if none of the tutorials are helping, try using tape at the end of the eyes to help you draw a nice line for the eyeliner and take it from there.

I hope you enjoyed this little Q&A and thank you to all of you that have submitted a question! xo

Hi, dolls!
This is part three of my 101 series focusing on baking, setting sprays and contouring. Today, we are focusing on setting sprays and comparing two of my favourite sprays - All Nighter by Urban Decay and Bridal setting spray by Skindinavia. If you're interested to learn more, let's get right into it!
There are many sprays out there but only a few are really good at setting your make-up. The best setting sprays will always have alcohol listed as their first or second ingredient after or before aqua/water. Alcohol in setting sprays helps to keep your make-up in place for a very long time, making your face feel tight after spraying but this feeling only indicates the spray is doing its job at setting your face properly. Avoid using setting sprays with alcohol too close to your eyes because eyes can be very sensitive to it, so always make sure to have your eyes closed or covered before using a setting spray.
There are some of the recommendations for picking the right setting spray based on your skin type, however, there are many more options out there if you do not particularly find any of the brands mentioned below appealing.
- All Nigher & Bridal Skindinavia for all skin types
- NYX Dewy Finish & ABH Dewy Set for dry skin
- De-Slick Oil Control & Huda Beauty Resting Boss Face for oily skin
118 ml/4oz
£24/$32
I have been using All Nighter setting spray for 3 years now and I love how good it sets my makeup. This spray has been developed in an exclusive partnership with Skindinavia and it's known as the best setting sprays out there. It's advertised to keep your makeup in place for around 16 hours. It comes in two sizes - 118ml and travel size 30ml. It's suitable for all skin types and it's 100% cruelty-free.
118ml/4oz
£24/$29
I wasn't aware of this brand until I've realised All Nighter is created in collaboration with Skindinavia. I've done my research on Skindinavia's products and realised it has really good reviews and opinions. I decided to buy the Bridal spray and OMG! It's the best setting spray I've ever used. I know All Nighter is amazing but the Bridal setting spray is just on another level. It holds my makeup in place for much longer than All Nighter and makes my face look flawless for the entire day. Seeing as they are the same price, I definitely recommend you to get Skindinavia's setting spray and see the results for yourself. The Bridal makeup setting spray comes in two sizes - 118ml and 236ml and it's suitable for all skin types. It's also cruelty-free and paraben-free.
Before doing this review, I've done a little poll on my twitter (@oliviaandbeauty) to see what you guys think will work better. 92% of people voted for All-Nighter!
Final Thoughts
Both setting sprays are great and seeing as their prices are similar, you really can't go wrong with either of them. However, after trying the Bridal spray, I'm ready to leave my All Nighter. The Bridal setting spray has more lasting power and sets my face for way longer than UD and seeing as they cost the same amount, I don't really see the need to buy All Nighter anymore. I truly recommend everyone to check out Skindinavia and their range of setting and prime sprays because they are great!
Let me know in the comment what are your favourite setting sprays, and which one of the two you would like to try the most!

In today's post, I wanted to review the new face masks released by Makeup Revolution. Revolution has recently launched their new four face masks - Warming Gel, Charcoal, Pink Clay and Hyaluronic Acid. Out of the four, I decided to buy the Warming Gel and Charcoal Purifying as I believe this is what my skin needs the most at the moment. If you're interested to learn more about these face masks, let's get right into the review!
Read my other Revolution face masks reviews:
This post may contain affiliate links meaning that if you click on the link and purchase the item, I will receive an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. However, my reviews/opinions on products are always 100% honest and I'll only recommend items that I love!
Both face masks retail for £8/$10 and are available on Revolution's website as well as their other retailers, including BeautyBay and Ulta. Both are 50 ml which is something I did not notice when ordering them, and once they arrived I was shocked how small they were. However, you still get a lot of the product and they last you for a while seeing as you're meant to use them only twice a week for best results.
The Warming Gel is said to be good for dry skin, as it is hydrating and helps to boost hydration levels and keep the skin moisturised. This face mask has a gel-like consistency and it warms up as you apply it onto your skin. It's a pleasant feeling but it might feel weird first time you apply it. I did enjoy this face mask for extra hydration for my skin, however it's not one I'll be repurchasing in the near future. It didn't do anything special to my skin except giving me some extra hydration on the days I've used it.
The Charcoal Purifying face mask is said to be good for clogged pores as it contains activated charcoal powder which helps to draw out oil and dirt from pores. It also purifies the skin and helps to clean complexion. One this mask is applied on your face, it starts to dry out from a wet-consistency to a very dry one. However, it's not a peel-off mask, so after 10 minutes you can rinse it well with a towel. I really enjoyed using this face mask and I've noticed it actually does what it's advertised as. If you need to purify your skin, this is the mask that will do all the work for you, leaving your skin looking and feeling flawless.
Both masks are advised to be kept on the face for about 10 to 15 minutes for best results. I would suggest trying it on for less than 10 minutes in the beginning to see how your skin reacts to it before applying it for the recommended time.
Final Thoughts
I am happy with these face masks by Makeup Revolution and I'm excited to try the remaining two in the collection. Out of the two, I definitely prefer the Charcoal face mask but if you have a really dry skin I think you will appreciate the Warming Gel face mask as well. They are very affordable and I recommend all of you to try them out!
Have you tried the new Revolution face masks? If so, what are your opinions?
